I first started owning the breed some 28 years ago, initially enjoying our dogs as pets and companions, after a time I began enjoying and having lots of fun showing a dog and bitch from our 1st litter we had bred. Having some success gaining a CC and 3 reserve CCs with our homebred girl, I guess I had the bug for showing. By this time, our 2nd litter gave us even more success in the ring and I was thrilled when a home bred dog and bitch gained their titles of Champions, but I have to say, I had more satisfaction knowing breeding these 2 litters, all the hard work/ homework looking to choose the right stud dogs to compliment and improve the breed, paid off.
I guess most of you will know me from The Northern's shows when I persuade you to part with your well earned cash by buying raffle tickets. But don't think I'm going to let you off the hook just because I'm judging, I have trained my scouts well!
Although I don't show a great deal nowadays, I am still very involved with the breed, still owning, judging and being an active member on the Northern's Committee.
Over the past 20 years of showing or being involved with shows, I have had the pleasure to meet, handle and judge many super dogs (oh, and most owners haven't been too bad either).
I am delighted to be asked to judge The Northern's Championship Show and looking forward to meeting with your dogs on Saturday, 21st November.
