Firstly, I would like to thank the committee for giving me the opportunity to judge this special breed, which I have followed from show to show having had the pleasure to judge the breed at Open show level. Would like to thank my stewards who kept all things moving in a well organised fashion. Finally, to my exhibitors who had to wait for a few breeds to be completed including their CC show from Manchester thank you for staying, Exhibitors took all my decisions well with a good to hear round of applause to all class winners.
Today I was such a special experience one I have been looking forward to ever since I got the appointment. The breed temperament was top notch from every exhibitor. My only main concern would be dentation I know they can be undershot but level is correct some are getting slightly more undershot than desired.

  1. Lindley's - Ch Hyerdunscar The Big Tease JW I JCH CJW 16 BW 18As from all the titles say this is one special lady at the age of 8 can still show the youngsters how to move, a credit to the owner turning this lady out in such great condition, I could go on and in detail but to be fair I would have thought every thing would have been said about this stunning veteran. I would just comment on her movement at the age of 8 still got the powerful front drive and the rear thrust to show true breed movement side gait so well balanced at one with the handler. Thank you for giving me the opportunity to go over this special girl. Best Veteran.

But good to see when settled showed true breed movement. Another a credit to the owner turned out in lovely condition.

My name is Peter Simmons, I am 63 years old. I have been involved with Border Collies for over 20 years.
Now about myself; I have always been involved in show dogs from an early age from when my mother and father showed Dobermans and Rottweilers. At the age of ten I won two classes at Crufts with my Doberman bitch. Two years later I came third in the final of the National Junior Handling finals. During this time my father had the top winning Rottweiler in the country. My father gave CCs in Dobermans, Rottweilers, and Bouvier Des Flanders. My mother judged on the continent giving CCs in several breeds until she passed away. So I've been involved in both Pastoral and Working group for many years.
I have been passed by the Kennel Club to give CCs in Border Collies and judged my first championship show at the West of England Border Collie Show in November 2012. In total I have awarded eight sets of CCs in Border Collies including: The Belgium Border Collie Club, Czech Republic Championship Show. Germany, Israel, Hungary. Also, USA in April 2024. Best in Show at Southern Border Collie Championship Show last year. I had honour to judge bitches at Crufts in 2022 and was delighted that my best of breed won the Pastoral Group 1. I also gave CCs in Australian Shepherds for the first time at Leeds 2023.

I enjoy my shows. My wife Yvonne and I are always happy to help any exhibitor in any way we can. I like to congratulate all winners and will always leave the ring with a smile. I like to think this applies to my judging also giving every exhibitor the time they deserve.

We have gained our first home bred Champion when only having only three litters; we have champions in Border Collies and Australian Shepherds, winning best in shows at championship club shows.

Look forward to seeing you all.
